University of Wisconsin Whitewater is a public institution that was founded in 1868. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 10,747, its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 400 acres.The University of Wisconsin Whitewater campus is located in the southeastern part of the state, about 50 miles west of Milwaukee. The University of Wisconsin—Whitewater offers many degree programs in the Colleges of Arts and Communications; Business and Economics; Education and Professional Studies; and Letters and Sciences. Students may earn master’s degrees in about a dozen fields, including business and speech-language pathology. Students at UW-Whitewater can join more than 170 campus organizations, more than 15 fraternities and sororities, and student government. There’s also much for students to do at the UW-Whitewater James R. Connor University Center, which is home to an art gallery and a bowling alley. Student athletes can play at the intramural, club, or varsity level. The UW-Whitewater Warhawks teams are members of the NCAA Division III Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and compete in more than 20 sports. The University of Wisconsin—Whitewater also offers a wheelchair athletics program for men’s and women’s intercollegiate basketball teams.
